TWP 100 Series Stain and Preservative is Rated the #1 Wood Stain/Sealer By Contractors
TWP 100 Total Wood Protectant Deck Stain protects and maintains all exterior wooden surfaces. TWP 100 is a special blend of chemicals in a contractor grade formula that safeguards and protects exterior wooden surfaces.
TWP 100 locks out water and moisture that causes wood to crack, split, and warp. Freeze damage is also prevented in cold climates.
TWP 100 Pro Series Deck and Fence Stain Protects against U.V. Damage – Specialty absorbers prevent U.V. wood graying, discoloring, and weather fading. Wood is preserved for a long-lasting finish.
TWP Total Wood Protection against Wood Decay – Wood preservatives prevent wood structural damage and rot for above ground surfaces. Most essential on non-treated exterior wood surfaces.
TWP 100 Preservative is Mold and Mildew Resistant – Specially formulated mildewcides hinder the growth of discoloring causing mold and mildew.
- Available in 6 Colors and Clear (Clear does not offer UV Protection)
- Far better longevity on both horizontal and vertical surfaces.
- TWP is not a film former but a penetrating stain that will not peel.
- Top rated professional choice for any exterior wood surface.
- Semi-transparent formula enhances natural wood color.
- Repels moisture and water absorption.
- Excellent color retention
Coverage:
- TWP 100 Stain can be expected to cover about 150-200 sq ft per gallon depending on wood porosity and age.
- For maximum protection two “wet on wet” coats are recommended. TWP stain products must get full penetration for optimal results.
Do you offer samples for the purchase of the TWP Stain?
We do not on this website.
Here are some photos of the existing cedar deck.
Good day:Need to re-stain existing cedar deck that is 5 years old.Original stain was Duckback Semi-Transparent in “Weathered Gray”…a linseed oil based product. We live in Canada and the deck backs out onto the river, so mildew growth is a constant. Do not really care about maintaining wood grain look. Not sure whether to go with semi-transparent or the solid.I will plan to use the stripper, then apply the brightener (neutralize). What product in gray would you recommend? Thanks very much.
Either the RAD Solid Stain or the RAD semi-transparent in Gray would work for you. Your prep is correct.https://www.restore-a-deck.com/restore-a-deck-wood-stain.html
I’m stepping in where a contractor left off. After stripping, he said he couldn’t get back to it for several weeks “because of another job” and we’d like this done for a July 4th party as he’d promised. Anyway, before finding your site he stripped my GF’s cedar deck with something else I believe it was Defy. Regardless, is it necessary to brighten after stripping? Second, if we brighten, isn’t it best to wait until the deck dries from the water used to brighten and rinse before using the TWP product? Finally, which TWP product would you suggest for a lake home in MN?
Yes, you have to brighten the wood after stripping. Wait for 48 hours after the prep for the wood to dry. Use the TWP 100 Series for MN.
Also, with the “wet on wet” two coat system, I’m assuming that the first coat is dry enough to step on to facilitate the need to walk on the deck to apply.(?)

for the semi-transparent oil-based stains it gives coverage of 100-200 ft2 / gallon.
And it recommends 2 coats, “wet on wet”. Is the coverage estimate for the total of the two coats, or do I need that much per coat?
Per coat. Averages to about 100-125 Sq feet per gallon for two coats.
What’s the biggest difference between TWP 100 and 1500?
VOC compliancy for certain states. The TWP 100 is restricted in some states while the 1500 can be used in all US states.
is the 100 super stinky and nasty to work with? is one better than the other in terms of quality and performance?
Oil-based stains all have an odor but it is not as bad as other brands. They both perform the same.
Hi,
Is TWP allow in CA? Could you mail to CA?If the clear is not UV rated what will you recommend?I do not like color on the wood members.
Thank You Mr. D
CA as in California or Canada? Only the TWP 1500 is allowed in California. Neither the TWP 100 or 1500 is allowed in Canada if that is what you meant. It is not possible to have a clear (no color) and still have UV protection from graying. The tint/color is what filters out the UV and prolongs the graying. TWP stains are semi-transparent. They will show the wood grain and highlight or enhance the grain based on the color you choose. The darker colors will have better UV protection over a lighter color.
